Corner Canyon at MR and Wildcat Invite, April 21-26

We have a home meet Wednesday at Mountain Ridge vs Corner Canyon at 3:00 p.m..  Athletes are expected to compete in multiple events that day and help run the meet.  Athletes should be present the entire meet, either competing, helping, or cheering on their teammates in different events.  No one should leave early!  It is supposed to be the a decent weather day again.  we rally appreciated those parents who came to help last week with our home meet, and we would love some help with this one. Please contact the coaches if you are able to help.  we need help with clerking and check in for races, High Jump, Long Jump, and all the Throwing events.

We will get athletes out of school at the same time as last week's home meet.  Athletes should hurry to the track to help with whatever is needed.

3rd Quarter Report Cards need to uploaded to RMA as of Friday.  Please do this now, if you haven't yet so that you can compete.

Also, a LAST reminder to athletes and parents that practice is not an optional thing.  If athletes want to be able to compete and remain on the team, they need to be at practice everyday!  We seem to have less and less of our athletes showing up to practice, and we have already had to cut some athletes as a results of these absences.

Congrats to the following for hitting State Q marks this past week at Davis: Caden Runyon - 200 meter.

Congrats to the following for winning over all this past week at Davis: Adam Wightman - Invited Pole Vault, Kinzlee Riddle - Invited 100m, 400m, and 200m.  Ashton Pedersen open 3200.

Congrats to the following for setting new school records: Kinzlee Riddle - 100m and 400m, Adam Wightman - Pole Vault, Caden Runyon - 200 Meter, Carly Trujillo - Discus, Sam Dockter - 300 Hurdles.

We will take some athletes to Wildcat Invite at Woods Cross on Friday at 2:00pm, Bus will leave at 12:00pm.  We are not attending Orem Tiger Trials as a team.

From Coach Barnes:  So for this upcoming school year I will be teaching Sports Medicine periods 1,2, and maybe 3 for 11th and 12th graders.  And Intro the Health Science periods 5, 6, and maybe 7 for grades 10-12. Both are full year classes, with Sports Medicine being a CTE credit class and Intro to Health Science (basic anatomy) fulfilling the .5 Health credit for graduation and .5 CTE credit.  I always highly recommend taking Health Science over Consumer Health, especially for those who might be semi-interested in any kind of medicine or health care type careers. I would love for my athletes to come take my classes, and fill them up with some students that I already know.  Plus, I would love for all of my athletes to be familiar with the concepts and curriculum taught in each class. Keep this in mind as arena scheduling comes up in the next week.

I would also like to see all athletes in a weights class if schedules permit.
