We had two good meets this past week, at Bingham on Wednesday, and the Phoenix Invitational at Farmington on Friday. The Boys were 3rd and Girls were 8th at Farmington. We had several good marks, some PRs, a State qualifier, and some school records, etc.. Adam Hawkes was 1st in Shot Put and Discus, Carly Trujillo was 1st in Shot Put, Adam Wightman was 1st in Pole Vault, and Cailey Bracken was 1st in the 1600m and 3200m.
Congrats to Ryder Gatten for hitting a State Q in the Javelin on Friday!
Congrats to the following for setting new school records: Carly Trujillo - Shot Put (38'2"), Adam Hawkes - Shot Put (54'0"), Cooper Ihler - High Jump (6'0"), Ashton Pedersen - 800m (2:01.05)!
We will be at Corner Canyon vs Corner Canyon and Herriman on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.. We will be on Schedule 1.
Everyone will be checked out from school early and the buses are currently scheduled to leave at 1:15pm from the north parking lot by the gym. Athletes are expected to compete in multiple events that day and help run the meet. Athletes should be present the entire meet, either competing, helping, or cheering on their teammates in different events. No one should leave early! It is supposed to be the a decent weather day.
No one is allowed to drive on their own to and from meets! This has been becoming an issue! If you want to be driven by parents or leave with parents a JSD Driver/Rider form must be filled out and signed before the meet and given to Coach Barnes, or you will be on the bus both ways.
Make sure you are at practice everyday so you are eligible to compete!
We will take a select group to Davis Invite on Saturday. Davis accepted entries will be out Wednesday. Bus is set to leave at 6:15 a.m.. The Invite Schedule is HERE.
