March 18-23, First Home Meet and Pine View

The Girl's team ended up 7th at the Earlybird Invite and the Boy's team was 8th.  Not bad for our very first meet of the season. Results are on the Schedule and Results page.

Congrats to the following for hitting State Q marks this past week at Earlybird: Adam Wightman - Pole Vault (1st place in the meet), Carly Tujillo - Shot Put, and Adam Hawkes - Discus and Shot Put.  

Congrats to Adam Hawkes for setting a new school record in Discus!  We did have a few Grade Level records change as well.

We are hosting Herriman and Riverton at our place Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.. All athletes need to be completely eligible, which means RMA is complete and fees are paid, if they haven't been already.  Athletes are expected to compete in multiple events that day and help run the meet.  Athletes should be present the entire meet, either competing, helping, or cheering on their teammates in different events.  No one should leave early!  It is supposed to be the a decent weather day.

Those who need uniforms still, will need to come get them from Coach Barnes during practice on Monday and Tuesday.  Make sure to have a screen shot of your payment.  No uniforms will be given out after Tuesday!

We will get athletes out of school at the same time as if we are going to a Region meet on the bus, so that everyone can help get ready for the meet and warm up.

We would love some parent help putting on the meet.  Please let the coaches know if you are able to help out.  Here are some main things we can use help with:

Concessions, (we might not do these for this first meet)

Clerking at the starting line

Running results from the finish to the box

Data Entry in the booth

Helping with field events (Javelin, Shot Put, Discus, Pole Vault, High Jump, and Long Jump). 

Even if you aren't super familiar with an event, we can help instruct you in assisting with it.  We will need a lot of help with our next meet April 24th and especially our invite on May 3.

We also have the Pine View Invite this weekend.  Those going have already been invited by the coaching staff.  Please get fees paid for this overnight trip and paperwork to Coach Barnes by Wednesday!  Info and papers can be found on the Overnight Travel page above.
